How Are Our Products Delivered?

UK Delivery Coverage

At LDL Lifestyle, we’re proud to offer fast and reliable UK mainland delivery on all our garden and lifestyle products. To check the delivery cost to your address, simply enter your postcode into the delivery calculator found on every product page.

Any large heavy items like bulk bags of soil & compost, garden furniture or BBQ's etc will be shipped by pallet courier. Small parcel-sized items up to 29kg will be sent via courier. 

Free Local Delivery:
Delivery of large bulk bags of soil & composts, selected garden furniture and BBQ's etc is free of charge for local orders fulfilled by our own vehicles to all LA, PR, and FY postcode areas.

Remote Area Surcharge:
Due to additional logistics costs, pallet deliveries to the following postcodes carry a £30 surcharge:
AB, DD, FK, HS, IV, KY, KW, PA, PH

After You Place Your Order

Bulk Product Deliveries

  • Orders placed before 1 PM are dispatched the same day via our standard pallet delivery service.
  • Orders placed after 1 PM are dispatched the following working day.
  • Our team will contact you the day before delivery to confirm the details.
  • If we’re unable to reach you, we may hold your delivery until we can confirm the details directly.
  • If delivery cannot be completed (e.g., no access or no one available to receive the goods), a re-delivery fee may apply.

Smaller Parcels

  • Lightweight items such as firelighters, kindling, and small log bags are sent via courier.
  • You’ll receive tracking and delivery updates directly from the courier, but no pre-delivery call from our team.

At LDL Lifestyle, we’re committed to ensuring your goods arrive in perfect condition, typically despatched within 1 working day from the date of order and delivered within 2 working days. 

Delivery Vehicle Information

To offer nationwide delivery, we work with trusted third-party pallet networks and couriers. Pallet deliveries are typically made using an 18-tonne vehicle (roughly the size of a double-decker bus).

A 7.5-tonne vehicle can be requested for smaller or restricted-access areas; however, please note this service is kerbside delivery only.

Depending on vehicle availability, a 12-tonne vehicle may be used instead. 

Due to Road Haulage Association (RHA) regulations, 7.5-tonne vehicles cannot be used for orders exceeding 750kg.

Topsoil, compost, and dumpy bags are delivered the same way — not on crane-mounted vehicles.

Smaller parcel orders are delivered within 24 hours of dispatch via courier (not pallet service).

Local Deliveries (LA, PR & FY Areas)

Our own delivery fleet covers local areas using small vehicles equipped with mounted cranes.
We’ll aim to position your delivery in a safe and convenient location near the vehicle, though movement may be limited due to the weight of the goods.
Please include any special instructions at checkout to help our drivers deliver efficiently.

Non-Local Deliveries (UK Mainland)

Bulk bag orders outside our local area are delivered on a 1-metre-wide wooden pallet via our partner hauliers.

The pallet is lowered to the ground using a tail lift and moved with a manual pallet lifter.

Manual pallet lifters cannot operate on gravel, chippings, grass, or uneven surfaces, and they cannot climb kerbs or steps.

For properties with restricted access, deliveries will be kerbside only, and customers will be responsible for moving goods onto the property.

The pallet and packaging will be left for you to dispose of responsibly.

Drivers are allocated approximately 15 minutes per delivery and will always aim to help where possible. However, the final delivery position is at the driver’s discretion and subject to safety and site conditions.

We cannot use crane-mounted vehicles or lift goods over raised surfaces.

Delivery Responsibility

LDL Lifestyle remains responsible for the condition of your goods until they are received by you or an authorised recipient (such as a neighbour). Once the delivery has been signed for, responsibility passes to the customer.

If no one is available to receive the delivery and no safe place has been pre-agreed, a re-delivery charge of £50 per pallet will apply.

If you’ve provided “Authority to Leave”, the driver will leave the pallet unattended at your address. Please note that LDL Lifestyle cannot be held responsible for any loss or damage after this point. Depots will not contact you prior to delivery when “Authority to Leave” is given.
